Shelby Newport headshotShelby Newport is a Costume & Makeup Designer based in Michigan. She is a professor of theatre in the Department of Fine & Performing Arts at the University of Michigan-Flint. Shelby received her MFA from Purdue University in 2009 and her undergraduate degree from Cornell College. Shelby regularly designs costumes in Michigan for Tipping Point Theatre, Detroit Public Theatre, Flint Repertory Theatre, and is a Resident Artist at The Purple Rose Theatre Company. She has also worked around the United States at a variety of colleges and regional theaters including the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Great River Shakespeare Festival, and Glimmerglass Opera. Her design work has also been seen internationally at the Turner Contemporary Museum in Margate, England. Shelby is also currently working toward her International Coaching Federation credentials for professional coaching.
