In this workshop, participants will learn to hand sew using a traditional American quilting technique and a Japanese method, called sashiko. Each participant will try hand sewn quilting techniques to add decoration and secure the quilt together. During the time sewing, discussion will take place surrounding textural memories and connection to fabrics, as often happens when people sit around sewing together. At the end of the workshop, we will donate our quilt to the non-profit organization Wrap the World with Quilts. This organization distributes quilts around the world to spread love, warmth, healing, and human connection to those who are suffering.
