Jeff Sinclair

Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies | University of Michigan

Jeff is a Lecturer at the University of Michigan at both Michigan Ross and the College of Engineering. He also serves on the advisory board of the Zell Lurie Institute in the Ross School. Prior to joining the faculty in 2013, Jeff was a Senior Partner with McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm, where he served for more than 30 years, working with companies in North America, Asia, and Europe across multiple industries and the US Federal Government. Jeff has a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship and has invested in more than 30 startups and private-equity owned companies. He currently serves as an investor and on the boards of directors of one start-up and two privately-equity owned companies. He was also an investor and board member with a successful start-up that was acquired by a Fortune 100 company in 2015. Additionally, he serves on two not-for-profit boards: The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET), supporting economic development with small and midsized manufacturing companies in Northeast Ohio; and My Community Dental Centers (MCDC), delivering dental services to the underserved throughout the State of Michigan. He holds an MBA and a BS in Engineering from the University of Michigan. He resides in Charlevoix, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio with his wife, Celia.
