Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources, Brigham Young University
Taeya Howell, JD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources at Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Business. Her current research focuses on how employees bring about change in their organizations by speaking up, which can lead to greater innovation and the role of gratitude in improving employee well-being. In particular, she has found that employee well-being is better when employees receive more gratitude from others for the work that they perform. This work highlights that small interventions can make a large difference for employee well-being.
Her research has appeared in several top management and psychology journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Social Psychological and Personality Science, and Sloan Management Review, and has been highlighted in the media.
Prior to joining Brigham Young University, Taeya was a Research Scholar at New York University: Stern School of Business. She received her PhD in management from the University of Texas at Austin, her JD from Brigham Young University, and her BS with honors from Washington State University.
