Leading a crisis is a difficult and unwelcomed challenge. Furthermore, professional training and daily responsibilities do not prepare us for leading crisis situations. Yet, some organizations thrive in crisis situations, and in this session, we will integrate theory with case studies to explore four strategies that organizations enact to thrive during crisis situations: 1) behaving responsibly and authentically while engendering trust; 2) scanning for possibilities and solutions; 3) learning integrated with reflection and adaptation; 4) embracing the crisis as an opportunity for change. Also, this session will engage the audience by co-creating a learning map that advances our knowledge of capacity building during a crisis situation.
