Much of what we know about successful organizational change requires leadership from the top of the organization and the ability to influence individuals lower in the hierarchy. Over the last three years, however, successful positive change has occurred at Michigan Ross from the bottom-up. This presentation focuses on the strategies used to implement wide-scale positive change in the culture of Ross—especially staff culture. It also highlights the strategies for overcoming resistance to change from higher level and more powerful players in the institution. Kim Cameron will provide an overview of change strategies, and Jennifer Evans will describe the implementation processes that have produced positive change from the bottom.
