We are in a historic time when it comes to gender equality at work. Given the greater awareness of the low percentage of women in high-level leadership roles, the gender pay gap, and now the rampant sexual harassment in the workplace, it is clear that organizations have much work to do when it comes to gender equality. In my talk I will do three things: (1) set the stage for why this is a critical issue for organizational leaders especially given recent events, (2) highlight why men are needed but often face challenges when it comes to stepping up, and (3) outline several practical steps organizations can take to improve the gender climate.
