Today’s hyper-connected world continues to transform the many ways people interact with each other and with firms. These changes constitute a fundamental shift in the marketplace — consumers, employees, and candidates have greater opportunities to voice their opinions and connect with one another, resulting in a network of influence greater than that of marketers, brands, and employers. As a result, the conventional approaches to marketing communications have become more and more challenged. This puts an added emphasis on leveraging technologies like social media to engage consumers. This workshop takes an in-depth look at the relationship between media and human behavior, and examines how organizations capitalize on social media, and these person-to-person interactions, to support their business efforts.
